STOCKLEY PARK
Uxbridge, England PROJECT DESCRIPTION Design through Construction of three office buildings totaling 300,000 square feet for an office park outside of London. The office park was unique as the 100 acre site was formerly a landfill. This was the largest single civil engineering project in Europe at its time involving landfill transfer: 4,000,000 cubic meters of rubbish, clay and gravel were relocated to create the landforms in the public parkland area. The landscape played a vital role in the development and siting of the three buildings. Susan Conger-Austin, Studio Head with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill |
