PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A 3,000 square foot addition to an existing
5,000 square foot spa, this project capitalized
upon the grade-change at street level by creating public and private zones within the spa. A compressed area at the new entry opens up to the existing spa and new treatment rooms with the use of ramps, allowing a visit to the spa to be a flowing sequence of experiences. Designed lighting and material continuity between treatment areas help define the circulation. Of primary importance in the design and execution of this project was the selection of sensuous materials that provide a distinct separation from the hectic world outside to the relaxing environment within.
